Reset

Before You Call: The Reset Protocol

Half of all error codes clear with a proper power cycle. Do it right, once.

Universal Reset Protocol (Try First)

  • Note the code. Photograph the display — codes can clear on reset and we’ll want to know which one appeared.
  • Breaker off, 60 seconds. Flip the oven’s breaker fully OFF, wait a full minute, flip back ON. This clears transient faults.
  • Reset the clock. Many ovens won’t heat until the clock is set after a power cycle.
  • Test one function. Try Bake at 350°F. If the code returns immediately, it’s a hard fault — stop resetting and call us.
  • Don’t repeat endlessly. Three failed resets = real failure. Repeated power-cycling won’t fix a bad sensor or board.
FAQs

Samsung Error Code FAQs

Quick answers for Samsung owners staring at a code.

My Samsung oven shows SE and beeps constantly. What do I do?

SE means a stuck touch key. Power-cycle at the breaker for 60 seconds. If SE returns, the membrane keypad has failed — $150–$350. Don’t keep pressing keys; it won’t unstick itself.

What’s the difference between E-27 and E-28?

Both are oven sensor faults: E-27 = open circuit (broken wire or dead sensor), E-28 = shorted circuit. Same part, same $100–$300 fix — we meter-test to confirm which.

Will unplugging my Samsung oven clear the error code?

It clears transient codes, yes — that’s the breaker-reset protocol above. But a code that returns immediately is a hard fault (bad sensor, keypad, or board) and needs the part replaced.

My Samsung shows a code not on this list. Now what?

Photograph it and call us at (971) 399-8141 — newer models add codes yearly. The flat-rate diagnostic covers full code readout and meter verification.
